Mile Creek Rise

Learning to live simply with Mother Nature.
From Mudbrick Cave to Mudbrick Home.
From parched paddocks to haphazard garden

Mile Creek Rise

My goals were fulfilled when we purchased a basic Mudbrick home on a  few country acres in Central Victoria. Leaving a small village in the Central Highlands 2010 and moving to the edge of Central Goldfields during July,(But still technically in Central Highlands) gave us a mistaken understanding of how the climate and the landscape really was. 2010 and early 2011 were wet years with multiple floods in the area. The following summer was the realisation of the hard work needed.  I spent the next decade looking for another ‘Utopia’ . In the mean time we renovated and improved the property with the intention of selling. Although the home had minimal interior infrastructure I have learnt over the years that the previous owners/builders had put a lot of thought into the external infrastructure .

This is a journal (in no particular order) of what we have achieved and  a journey of overcoming  ‘Grass is Greener Syndrome’
It has been said that our home is rough around the edges but well built…. perhaps an analogy of me .
